Most kids today want more stuff for Christmas. Stuff like video games, Ipods, CD’s, designer clothes, sneakers, money, concert tickets, Wii’s, and new cell phones top many kids’ Christmas wish lists.
But if you ever visit an Eastern European or South American orphanage their wish lists would look vastly different.
Here is a list of the top 10 things orphans in these places would love to have for Christmas. They would say they want . . .
10 — A pair of shoes with no holes in the soles
9 — A clean dress that is not a hand-me-down
8 — To know where I’m going to be sleeping tomorrow night
7 — My mom to want me back
6 — My brothers and sisters to be together again
5 — To know who my mom and dad are
4 — To feel hopeful about my future
3 — To live in a house with a real family
2 — To stop the hurt
And the Number 1 thing these orphans would love to have for Christmas is . . .
1. To have someone give me a hug and tell me they love me and know they mean it
As you shop for your kids this Christmas, and all their stuff that will probably wear out before New Years, think about the orphans. Then thank God Almighty for His gift of love for you and pray that orphans will some day know His love and get what they want for Christmas.

Thank you Steve, I’m pleased that you have a special place in your heart for me, as I too was an Orphan unwanted and unloved by everyone except God.
Thank you for the work you are doing for the Children Steve, as you know I have supported Children in Zambia for many years, if only people realised the Joy they have in knowing we care. Sometimes I feel I would Love to go over there but I can’t with being disabled but how wonderful it would be to see their eyes light up and their smile of happiness as they receive our Love in a Christmas box. God bless you Steve for what you do in His name for His little ones, can I give a donation to the ones you support, please let me know when and how, it won’t be a lot but I would like to share with you in your outreach I realise just how important it is.

Thank you, and may God richly bless you.

This list really touched my heart because I used to be a foster child and I know how these kids feel especially around the holidays.

You have very much Steve the same heart focus I have with Children in need see my link below thank you for reaching out to those in urgent need and yes what you shared is True many today are saturated with the Chattles of Life and don’t see the need that is all around us we are indeed Jesus Body, His hands, arms, feet and voice we need to reach out first in The family of God and then to a hurting World and as we walk in Christ Jesus we will be motivated to do so.
