Life Does Not Begin At Conception

Life does not begin at conception.

Are you going to believe what God says, or are you going to believe what you think, or what some doctors speculate and theorize?

Because the Bible clearly shows us evidence that life, for many of us¹ (see footnote), began way before conception. In Psalm 139 David probably offers the most accurate evidence that some of our lives began before conception. Listen to David speak about God,

“For you created my inmost being,
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:13-16.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth (where?)
your eyes saw my unformed body. (what kind of body?)

When God called Jeremiah into His service as a prophet, God said to him, “Before I formed you in the womb (Who formed?) I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:4-5. (Parentheses mine).

Then Ephesians 1:4 says, “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world (When?) to be holy and blameless in His sight.” Which those of us who claim Jesus as Lord and Savior are in God’s eyes.

Now, either you believe what God says in His word about when life begins, or you don’t. Some people who call themselves Christians still justify abortion. And we know all the arguments they give for believing that–for the health and safety of the mother, rape and incest, birth defects and more. But Satan has deceived them with his lies.and they believe them instead of God’s word about life and when it began.

Let me close with a few comments about those who claim a woman has the right to make choices about her own body. The lost can and do claim that. Their father is Satan and they won’t know the love of God and the Truth about life until they claim Jesus as Lord of their lives. We need to pray for them and reach out to them with the Truth of the Gospel. God loves them just as much as He loves you and me.

But a man or woman who claims Jesus as Lord and Savior gave up all their rights at the cross. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 Paul teaches, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?  The next verse says, “you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” Having an abortion does not honor God.

¹The “many of us” to whom I refer above are those folks whose names are written in the Book of Life, who have been born again from above, and who have claimed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We’re the ones, the Bible says, who were formed before the foundations of the world to be God’s people.  For us, life did begin long before we were conceived by our biological mother and father.

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?  If you don’t you can learn more about Him and how He can transform your life. Then you can learn God’s truth about all the issues of life. If you want to know more, just follow this link.

  1. If the spirit is in the womb that would be post sexual intercourse conception?
If God were really in someone at the earliest stages of life and henceforth you might could logically conclude many many folks do recognize the fact the body may in fact be the temple of God? If someone does recognize the the temple of God I theorize even fewer accept the responsibility and subsequent behavior that comes with that recognition – choosing instead to sign their emotionality on to allegiance to a sports team emotionality, celebrity and political cultism emotionality, and military and bureaucrat blind allegiance to real or presumed pretend authority.
If life does begin at the joy of release in conception as in Catholic theology then is it ok to propose the assertion that rape and assault occurred if one of the parties did not experience the alleged “joy”? How is one non-God human or federal judge going to presuppose he or she can tell when someone is faking joy or being abused and not speaking up because of fear, oppression and suppression of the truth by the press media?
The Bible is inspired but were all of the editors and translators?
How many people did Jesus kill in his spirit’s minstry? How many were killed in other religion’s leader’s ministry?
Who was UCC ORDAINED “minister” Jeremiah Wright ministryng to when he g’D America? and what was his Christian intent in his words and actions? What was he prophesizing?
Are the ten commandments also key components and guiding behavior principles of Christianity [or of the democratic and the the left of that political class and parties]??

I agree with your assessment completely. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you’ll come back to be encouraged again. I know you encourage me.

  2. This is a great lesson! I pray that your readers will take it to heart…I know I do. As a Born Again Christian, I know that my life is IN Christ. Any child conceived is a LIFE! To think otherwise, is a lie. God bless you, Steven!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. Yes, I believe everyone needs to hear this message and believe it. I actually know some folks who call themselves born again Christians and believe abortion is a woman’s personal choice I ask them to read Psalm 139, then tell me abortion is okay. I have yet to have someone read it, or tell me they read it. I don’t know about you, but I’m a one-issue voter. That may be narrow minded, but I believe if a candidate is not pro life they don’t deserve my vote. Thank you again for stopping by. I’m thinking of republishing a pro-life blog I wrote several years ago called, “God Is Pro Choice.” That one ruffles some pro-abortionist feathers. :>)

      1. Christians say they’re pro life but so many I met don’t care about helping someone who is famished. I show Christians a photo of my handicapped (malnourished and nearly emaciated) brother in Bosnia and their response is basically “oh that’s nice”. Christians want more people in this worly (by being anti abortion) but they could care less if those people have enough to eat. Too many Christians in the US are self-centered, self-righteous by their church-going actions, but care not in someone suffers.

      2. Anna, thank you for your comments. I’m genuinely sorry for your brother’s circumstances. I will pray for him. I couldn’t agree with you more. Our church sends mission teams to four countries every year and we spend most of our time loving sad, lonely orphans. It is sad. I work on a mission team that serves one of our neighborhood elementary schools. Most of the children come from single parent homes. Some are homeless. We do what we can. And I agree that some of us Christians grab onto one issue and think because they care, they’re somehow serving God. In many cases their “Christianity” is so shallow and superficial. If you will share your brother’s name I will put him on our church prayer team list, so some folks will be praying for him every day. If you’d like you can contact me through my email address: stevesaw@gmail.com. We would be happy to pray for you and your brother. Thank you and God bless you and your brother.
