The Greatest Election Ever

Who won the election? We did.

If you are an authentic follower of Jesus Christ, God elected you. We didn’t have to campaign. We didn’t have to raise funds. We didn’t have to give any speeches or kiss any babies heads. In fact, We didn’t have to do anything to be elected.
God did it all for us.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. I Peter 2:9-10

I often sit in awe when I think of God choosing me to be one of his children, a family member of the people belonging to God.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Romans 8:29-30.

That’s me!  That’s you! God created us, called us, justified us and will one day glorify us. All from and by God. Because He loved me before I was.  He loved you before you were.

We don’t have to wait on the ballots to be counted. For us The Chancellor of the Electoral College has already bestowed upon us the degree of certainty that we are His and He is ours and we will always be His. He will never forsake us or leave us. We will never be separated from Him. Ever.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,^[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39.

Those are the best election results ever! So, here on earth we elected another president. But our King has always been King and always will be.
