Does God have an opinion about gun control?
I don’t think so. Specifically.
God’s word does not mention specific Scripture commands about topics such as pornography, abortion, identify theft or ponzy schemes. But we can find Scripture that we can relate to motives for such evil and possibly apply to our lives. Scripture doesn’t say we have a right to keep and bear arms. But neither does it say it’s okay for the government to confiscate the Glock under your pillow or the deer rifle in your closet.
Scripture does say things such as,
And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. Genesis 9:5-6
Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?” Matthew 26:52-54
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19
The gun control controversy, in my opinion, originated with the fall of man. The current debates over abortion, gun control, homosexuality and same-sex marriage are consequences of Adam and Eve’s sin. Tragedy, bloodshed, wars, heartaches, evil and violence today are the result of sin. In a world primarily influenced by Satan, none of it will end until Christ takes us home. Laws or government intervention will not change it. God will allow man’s free will unabated.
If God altered it, He would have to take away man’s free will. That was His gift to man in the Garden. He won’t take it back.
For His Glory 
Gentlemen would it not be better if we all pushed to bring God back into our schools, government, communities and public places. I have my personal beliefs about gun control and Lord knows there are plenty of regulations out there which are not inforced. But the fundemental item is we have allowed a few minority groups make it not politically correct to believe/ support/ proclaim our religious convictions. If we don’t allow God in our lives all the gun control legislation will serve no end. Bring God back into our Country.

You put all questions in the same category. I will accept that – All questions do go back to original sin. Your suggestion is that we simply accept that sin exist. We are not to do anything to try to abate the rise of sin and sinners!

Of course I will share Jesus and the Truth of the Gospel every chance I get, with the people God leads me to.No, I don’t believe we can do anything to abate the sin that is ravaging our nation. And my thinking is that no group, pro or con gun control, or any other group, regardless of their beliefs or cause, or any government intervention will be successful at reducing violence, hate, prejudice or the evil that has this country flushing itself further and further down the drain.

I can never understand why the government tries to legislate maorality or behavior. Those who obey laws are not the problem. The ones who shirl the law as it stands will do nothing different with any new law handed down. Adam and Eve chose our fate that day in the garden when they ignored God’s simple instructions. The effect will be with us until Christ returns.

It is interesting that you really take no possition in your own argument! You are wiling to quote a couple of scriptures, but infer nothing. How about giving your readers a few more scriptures:
Lu 22:36 “Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.”
or:
Mt 10:34 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.”
Nehemiah 4:17 “They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.”
Judges 5:8 reminds us of what happens to a foolish nation that chooses to disarm: “They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?”

Great scriptures, David. Thank you for sharing. I must admit I was not aware of them. They seem to support those who are opposed to gun control.
But, I did make a point. I did offer a position:; e.g. “The gun control controversy, in my opinion, originated with the fall of man. The current debates over abortion, gun control, homosexuality and same-sex marriage are consequences of Adam and Eve’s sin (the fall). Tragedy, bloodshed, wars, heartaches, evil and violence today are the result of sin.” That is my personal position and the point of my post. I guess I don’t have a dog in the gun control fight. Now, bring up abortion, sex trafficking, child abuse, pornography, batten down the hatches, I’m ready to go 15 rounds with anyone.

David, I don’t condemn or condone gun control. It is a moot point with me, as I think my post makes clear. The other issues I am passionate about. But they are mutually exclusive with the gun control issue, in my mind. I’m not using gun control as a weapon “in the name of gun control” nor am I associating gun control with them. I avoid all discussions or arguments both for or against it. Thank you for your comments, though. Your thoughts always stimulate, in my mind, good healthy debate between us. We have lost interest in debate in this country. That’s why I value our comments back and forth, regardless of our leanings. Thanks again. Always good to hear from you.
