Saint Or Sinner?

How many times have you heard a church-goer say, “I’m a sinner saved by grace”?

That phrase is patently false. Un-biblical.

It is impossible for God’s children to be sinners. All God’s children USED to be sinners, but no more.

The ONLY thing that makes one a sinner is refusing to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Period.

God is holy, set apart. Absolutely righteous. He can have nothing to do with sin. He is set apart from the power, practice and presence of sin. Sinners can’t have a relationship with God. Sinners can’t communicate with God. Sinners can’t stand in the presence of God

To be a child of God we must be holy, set apart, righteous, free from sin and it’s power that entangles us. We can’t do that on our own.

So we need a new life in which our sins are forgiven and done away with so we can be holy, just like God.

Jesus’ death on the cross did all that for us. He made us holy. Righteous.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! ” Romans 5:8-9 NIV
