Saint Or Sinner–But I Don’t “Feel like” A Saint

Feelings have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with who we are in Christ. When we make the decision to accept Christ as our Savior, we are saved. We are sheep in the hands of our Good Shepherd. Jesus is our Good Shepherd. Here’s how Jesus described His relationship to us,

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30 NIV

Does that sound as if Jesus is talking about sinners?

“But,” you say, “I still sin.”

Of course you do. All God’s children sin. Billy Graham sins. The Pope sins. Our pastors sin. But the blood of Christ on the cross washed all believers from all our sins. When we accepted Christ, we became new creations. We no longer live, but Christ lives in us. We are no longer slaves to sin or the law.

Tomorrow we’ll look at some scriptures to consider to see if you still consider yourself a sinner.
