Safe Enough To Be Vulnerable

We hear many victims of abuse proclaim their fear of being vulnerable again. Their experience as the victim of a controlling, manipulative, abusive relationship erodes their spirit and tramples their security. So damaged are their souls that they fear commitment and find it difficult, if not impossible, to be vulnerable again.

Some victims of abuse eventually discover that Jesus is safe enough to be vulnerable with. In fact, Jesus is the only person safe enough for any of us to be truly vulnerable with.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30.
