In Ecclesiastes Solomon discovered God has a purpose for everything that happens “under heaven”. In other words, everything we do or experience is part of God’s purpose. Not ours.
If we embrace the truth that EVERYthing happens as part of God’s eternal purpose for our good (see Romans 8:28) and His glory, then “Why?” becomes moot.
As painful or crushing as our trials might be, we can find the answer to “Why?” in Ecclesiastes. God has allowed EVERYthing to happen “in its time” and for His purpose.
We enjoy the times to embrace, to be born, to plant, to love. But we bemoan the times to refrain from embracing, to die, to uproot, to hate. We enjoy peace, but we loathe war.
We’re going to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
Yet, God has purpose for it all.
These [trials] have come so that your faith may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. From 1 Peter 1:3-9
