Knock Knock

I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20

I drove to our daughter’s house last night to pick up my wife. I knocked on the door softly to keep from waking her girls. She was upstairs and didn’t hear me, soJesus knocking I had to keep knocking until she came downstairs and opened the door.

Doesn’t Jesus have that problem with some of us? We can’t hear Him knocking because we’re distracted by the noise of life. Or we hear Him knocking, but don’t want to open the door; because we don’t want Him to see our messy house.

What fascinates me about this picture is no door knob on the outside. Jesus won’t force His way in. It’s up to us to listen for Him and open the door when He knocks.
