Love Is Kind

In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul says agape love is two things: “Love is patient, love is kind.”

Kindness is a rare bird in our culture. People have to be intentional to be kind. We must be vigilant for opportunities to show kindness. When we see one we need to act quickly before the opportunity evaporates. Many of us probably pass up opportunities each day to show kindness to someone. Paul tells us to . . .

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each another, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:31-32, New International Version).

Being kind requires action. But kindness is not limited to deeds. We can be kind to others by offering encouraging or comforting words or compliments.

Acts of kindness always yield blessings and warm fuzzies for the actor.

Take time today to deliberately show kindness to someone.
