Paul, Are You Kidding Me?

encouragement

Paul begins his second chapter of Philippians this way, “If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ. . .”

Paul, are you kidding me? Do I have encouragement? The Savior of the world lives inside me. He promises to be with me always. He promises me eternal life. He has cleansed me from all my sins. Delivered me out of darkness and placed me into His marvelous light. Delivered me from the law and given me grace. He has given me His Holy Spirit. He walks with me and He talks with me. He loves me deeply. He accepts me just like He made me. He showers me with His inexhaustible grace. He shows me His mercy. He has made all His spiritual wisdom available to me.  He will never leave me or forsake me.

Are you kidding? I take encouragement from all that in spades, Paul. My encouragement allows me to encourage others. I take encouragement and  joy and peace and love and goodness all from being united with Christ.
