If we are ever tp understand our true identity in Christ, we must begin at the Cross.
Our new identity became possible with Jesus’ death on the cross. He died for our sins. Most believers know that. And, yes, He assures us that we will have eternal life.
He made The Great Exchange possible. When we accepted Christ, Jesus exchanged His life for ours. He is living in each of us at the very core of our being. In our spirit. Our spirit is now joined with His Holy Spirit.
Romans 6:3 tells us,
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (NIV)
Our old man died on the cross when Jesus died. Now Christ lives in us.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
Christ lives in us. We are new creatures. Not changed. Not remodeled. Exchanged. Made new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 teaches us,
“. . .if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Amen…
