An Amazing, Precious Promise

right way wrong wayOur Bible verse for this week in Vacation Bible School is Isaiah 30:21.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21

It is amazing to me because God promises that wherever I go, no matter what I do, The Holy Spirit is with me. He’s not only with me, but at EVERY TURN I make in life, He will speak to me, and my ears will hear Him. That’s a physical promise for my ears. And I will hear His voice.  And He will tell me which way to turn, and what choice to make that will be the best for me and will glorify Him.

To hear Him clearly, I know I need to clean out my ears. I need to be wholly earsfocused on listening to Him while completely tuning out the world (I’m not always good at drowning out the jarring discordant racket the world hurls at me). But if I’m focused on God, walking in His Spirit, I’ll hear clearly which way He wants me to go. And when I hear it, I’ll know that it’s from God.

Isaiah 30:21 is precious to me this week during VBS because it has been one of my life verses for years. Now I get to testify how awesome the verse is to some beautiful 4th and 5th graders.

Do we serve an awesome God or what?
