On the way to school today my kindergarten granddaughter and I were talking about the days of the week. We assigned adjectives to each day. With Granddaddy’s help we came up with “Fabulous Friday”. I helped her spell Fabulous.
Why is Friday Fabulous? For me it’s fabulous because that’s the day Christ died on the cross for my sins.
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t remember that as much as I want to. My day is filled with granddaughters and school and my wife and family. I lose touch with the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for me, so that I could be saved, love Him and live forever with Him. Oh, I remember it at Easter and Christmas and communion.
But shouldn’t we remember that sacrifice more often? Do we ponder the suffering and agony and loneliness Jesus must have felt? I don’t.
So I’m going to commit my Fridays to remembering the sacrifice Jesus made for me because He loves me so. That’s going to make all my Fridays fabulous! Don’t you think?
