After both my kids “encouraged” me to take better care of myself, and after my granddaughters kept telling me I had a fat belly, I decided it was time to do something about it.
I weighted as much as I ever have, 238. I felt miserable, I was sick a lot and I had other health problems. Once day I watched a video of me singing in our praise team at church. I was fat. No, I was obese.
A friend of mine at church told me about a book by Dr. Joel Freeman that changed his life, Eat to Live. He read it and lost 65 pounds in months and has kept it all off. He encouraged me to read it and do what it says. I did. And you can see the results.
Eat to Live is not a diet. It is not a quick weight loss program. It reveals how you can change the way you live. The book will transform the way you think about food, diet, exercise and nutrition.
Today I weigh 192. I have seven pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal — 185 pounds. I haven’t seen 185 since Watergate.
Father, thank you for giving me the strength, persistence and courage to change my life. I have more energy now, and more desire to serve you and tell other folks about your plan for my health life. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
WOW!!!!!! I’m so happy for you. Way to go, Steven. You sure have demonstrated self-discipline. I think I will get that book. Yet, I know that it’s all about the man.

Thanks for the encouragement! Did you catch the typo? First I said 283 pounds. It was suppose to say 238. My goodness, 283 to 192 would be a major weight loss. Glad I was never there. :>)

Thanks, Doug, for your encouragement. . It’s been an amazing journey for me. I feel 10 times better and 10 years younger. (Wish I could say I am 10 times better looking. I’m afraid that will never happen.) :>)
