I didn’t have a stroke, but . . .

I woke up on my birthday (December 23) unable to hear out of my left ear. It felt like water in my ear. I got very dizzy and sick. Our whole family was here for Christmas, so I put up with it until Saturday. Marie became concerned, so my son drove me to the VA emergency room. I was admitted that day and spent the next six days underwent a battery of tests, pokes, prods and consults.

Bottom line: I have lost hearing in my left ear, they believe permanently. My official diagnosis was an uncommon inflamation of the labyrinth called hemorrhagic labrynthitis. The labyrinth is a system of interlocking, fluid-filled sacs and tubes in the canals of the inner ear that help maintain balance and control eye movements (vestibular system).

Ergo, I have not posted to my blog since Christmas. I’m beginning 2016 with a renewed faith in God to do something miraculous in me and through me that I may not understand, or expect. Whatever

happens, I have unbridled hope that God will receive all the praise and glory for what He does and how He will use me to love and encourage others. I’m  hopeful and expecting Him to show me those opportunities and give me clear direction on what to do and how to do it to bring glory to Him.

In a recent blog Chip Ingram said this,

Jesus calls you and me to live in such a way that we expect God to do supernatural things, provide for our needs in ways you and I don’t understand, and change things in our lives in ways you and I did not think were possible.

I want to live in such a way in 2016. How about you?
