I was reading some encouragement on Jennifer Goodman’s Brake 5 blog site today. Something she wrote hearkened me back to one of my favorite prayers I memorized years ago, but don’t pray often enough these days. I’d like to start praying it again–often, if not every day when I wake up.
<
p style=”margin-left:75px;margin-top:-10px;”>God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I can not change;
courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference;
living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as the pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is;
rather than how I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right;
as I surrender my will to You;
so that I will be reasonably happy in this world;
and supremely happy with You forever and ever in the next.
