Longing for you

“Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.” Isaiah 30:18 New American Standard

The Lord sees everything and still He longs for you. What an image. He longs for you.  That encompasses your entire life: God longs for you. His compassion and longing finally took shape in Jesus. He chose to show you what longing and compassion look like inside a body just like yours. Anyone could approach Him .. at anytime.

And long before that God waited as His Presence-Promised-People chose to make side deals and secure their own future when He had already promised them everything. They thought they could do better. They looked around and chose to live within the constraints of everybody else. He could have walked away. Instead God longed

It hasn’t changed in two thousand years. He still longs for you to know and live a life free and full in Christ. He has the scars to prove it. They resemble your scars .. only whole.  Remember He sees everything. He sees all the places where you weigh His freedom against your fear.

He knows just how hard it is for you to let Him be the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. Jesus knows exactly how much this world tries to lure you to grip it’s empty promises. And today He is there .. right at your feet .. longing to walk with you .. fill you .. and give you more life than you could ever imagine or achieve. What will you grip as your strength for today? It only takes a moment …

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.” 2 Corinthians 1:3 Holman Christian Standard

About Steven Sawyer

God blessed me with the gift of writing. Mom told me I wrote paragraphs in second grade when others were learning to write sentences. I spent more than three decades in professional writing gigs. For the past eight years I've combined my passion for writing with my love for the Lord. He and I write a Christ-centered, family-friendly blog to glorify God Monday-thru Friday at https://stevensawyer.wordpress.com/. My wife and I have four grown children and two precious granddaughters we co-parent with their mom. I'm a Galatians 2:20 disciple of Christ seeking to allow Christ to live His life in me, through me, and as me.
