The moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we take up permanent residence in the unseen spiritual realm of our eternal home. At the same time we remain in the seen and temporal world here on earth.
In the unseen, eternal world God sees us as His perfect, holy child, exactly like He created us to be when He saved and sanctified us.  We are complete. We have become His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are beyond reproach. God has already perfected those of us who are in Christ.¹ That’s not me talking, it’s God’s word.
For by one sacrifice he has perfected for all time all those who are being sanctified. Hebrews 10:14
perfected for all time–It’s done. Finished. Â God sees us as His perfect, beloved children. Faultless, holy, complete. As He intended us before the foundations of the earth.
But we live in the flesh on earth, where we are being sanctified.  We still have to deal with emotions, trials., temptations and the realities of life on earth.  In the seen world, God is bringing us to perfection, sanctifying us.  God is continuing to work the truth deeper into us  and conform us to His image.

The last time I wrote was when you and Sam took care of John’s affairs in AZ. I didn’t realize it had been that long. Rita & I are fresh back from 16 days in the Deep South. A refreshing week with all our 3 sons and their families @ a beachhouse in Seacrest, FL on the panhandle; then almost a week in Atlanta doing lots of touristy stuff. Betwixt the two, we had the rare treat of attending President Carter’s Sunday school class on July 30th @ Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. Drove home thru Nashville, Peoria, Ill., Quad Cities & Cedar Rapids. Traveled 3300 miles, making great memories.

I like your post, Steve, and find it comforting and assuring. Seems like certain days, I just need that reassurance.
