What if the gospel is fake news?

What if the atheists are right? What if Darwin’s theory is factual? What if after our last breath we return to the earth as worm food? Have you ever doubted  we’ll all go to heaven?

Let’s say, for conversation’s sake that the gospel is fake news. Would that worry you? It wouldn’t bother me. If I’m worm food when I’m gone, I will have spent the past 60 years with joy in my heart, hope for a bright future, confidence that all the Bible’s promises are true, and I’ll meet my Heavenly Father and live in peace and intimacy with Christ for eternity.

Thinking and hoping and believing all that as opposed to an end to life with nothing at all to look forward to. No future past our miserable, hopeless, useless life on earth. How disparaging! How hopeless!

Of course we know the Gospel is the ONLY GOOD NEWS we have.  It is true. It is THE TRUTH. It is our promise for eternity.

We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and have the life of Jesus living in us. We have the certainty that we will one day gather with all the Saints at the gates of heaven and live in peace and intimacy with our Lord and Savior for eternity.

About Steven Sawyer

God blessed me with the gift of writing. Mom told me I wrote paragraphs in second grade when others were learning to write sentences. I spent more than three decades in professional writing gigs. For the past eight years I've combined my passion for writing with my love for the Lord. He and I write a Christ-centered, family-friendly blog to glorify God Monday-thru Friday at https://stevensawyer.wordpress.com/. My wife and I have four grown children and two precious granddaughters we co-parent with their mom. I'm a Galatians 2:20 disciple of Christ seeking to allow Christ to live His life in me, through me, and as me.

  2. But Billy Graham and many other prominent theologians believe we go to heaven immediately at the moment of death, if we have received Him by faith as our Savior.
Either way, since eternity is timeless with no beginning or end, does it really matter?
Once we finite beings become immortal, we enter the realm of infinity. Boggles the mind, doesn’t it.

  3. don’t believers go to heaven after the second coming? I thought there was a scripture in the bible somewhere that said that….of course I could be wrong. I am about a lot of things. lol
