Well, I didn’t actually find the flesh-and-blood Betty Jean Davis.
I was looking through some old pictures I’ve kept for years and ran across my second grade class photo at Central Elementary School in Shenandoah, Iowa and there she was.
Some of you may recall several posts I’ve written for this blog wishing I could find her lamenting the way I treated Betty Jean and teased her. Years later I developed a conscience. I wanted to give her my heart-felt apology for treating her so cruelly and teasing her. The girls in the class though, were worse than I was about the shameful ways they treated Betty Jean.
Here’s a link to one of those posts I wrote earnestly seeking to find her and tell her how sorry I was . . .
And here’s Mrs. Sanford’s second grade class picture.

So, I may never find the flesh-and-blood Betty Jean Davis down here on earth. But I have this picture and I’ll have it always to remind me that when we both meet again in heaven we’ll be best friends forever. What a blessing to look forward to.
