Somebody’s gotta step up

It’s time for somebody to step up and shout, “Enough is enough!” We must reverse the nasty divide we are propagating in this country–politically and socially.

I realize that millions of folks out there are upset because Trump didn’t get reelected as president for a second term. But there’s nothing any of them can do about it. He can claim he won the election by a landslide. He did not. He lost. He can claim the election was stolen. He can insight his supporters to rebel in insurrection and destroy property. He can call his second impeachment a witch hunt.

President Biden

What he can not do is change the outcome. Joe Biden is President now and will be for the next four years. Trumpers get over it. Trump get over it.

What Trump and his supporters could do is admit defeat and be willing to contribute their energy and efforts to seeking ways to help bring unity and peace back to America.

NOW THAT would help make America GREAT AGAIN.

Unfortunately neither Trump or his supporters seem interested in promoting peace or helping heal the deep political and social wounds we live with. To me, they appear committed to seeing what more they can do to rip the fabric of this wonderful country further and further apart.

Who’s going to stand up and shout “Enough is enough.”

Where is Martin Luther King when you need him?

It’s going to take someone with King’s passion and deep spiritual insight and relationship with God to ever pull it off. I don’t know of any candidates now. Does anyone out there?

In the mean time we can be seeking God’s intervention . . .

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

  1. I appreciate your intent here, Steve. Realy do! This has deepened to a “systemic” conflict, and each side only wants to listen to those who reinforce their perspective. For now, the process that would move our society out of this eludes me.
