Stop praying for patience

If you’re anything like me you’ve probably worn God out asking him to give you patience. Well you can stop asking. You don’t need God to give you patience. You already have all Gods patience you will ever need. How about some self-control? Do you need a little of that? Could you be a little kinder? You’ve already got all the kindness and self-control you’ll ever need.

How do I know? Read what Paul says to The Ephesians, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 How man blessings? EVERY spiritual blessing.

What do we do with the blessings we receive down here on earth? We amass them. But all our worldly blessings are temporal. We’ll either use them up or leave them behind. We won’t take them with us. But every spiritual blessing is eternal. We can never run out of God’s supply.

And where do we find these spiritual blessings? In Christ. Who is in Christ? Whoever believes in him and has claimed Him as Savior.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 NIV

You will never lack for any provision from God as long as you are in Christ.

It’s okay to ask God for blessings, Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 encourages us to pray always. “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Praying for stuff is a good thing. And remember, all we have to do is ask God for the blessings He already has and is willing to provide all the blessings you need from His eternal, limitless supply. And He will.
