Very few people in the music industry are aware of this little known fact– Black Gospel singers are born with an extra vocal chord. The extra vocal chord is the reason Black Gospel singers can sing circles around theri lilly white counter parts. Always have. Always will.
To prove it let’s take a great song by Jim Croce. “Operator” and listen to two version, the first by the all-White singing group, Manhattan Transfer, then the Black Gospel version of the same song by Jesse Dixon and the Black Gospel group Signature Sound.
