If a stranger came up to you on the street and asked you to tell her all you know about God, what would you say?.
How would you respond? How long would it take you to tell the stranger all you know about God. If you’re anything like me it wouldn’t take much time at all.
I could tell you lots of stuff I know about God. Heck, we talk to each other every day. He shares all sorts of stuff with me. I love when He tells me how he’s answered my prayers. Of course I don’t know a centile of stuff that my Pastor knows or some Bible scholars. But God lets me know everything I need to know to help me navigate life today and hopefully be a blessing to others and honor Him and be grateful.
Of course I can never know all there is to know this side of heaven. But some day…some day I’ll know everything I’m suppose to know. God promises us through the Apostle Paul . . .
“Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12). Some day we’ll understand it all by and by’
One really good place for folks to begin understanding about God is J.B.Phillips, YOUR GOD IS TOO SMALL (MacMillan, 1973), There are lots of used copies around, and many reprints. One of my favorite chapters in this very readable book is Chapter 7: God-in-a-box. That concept is as prevalent today as it was when Phillips wrote the book.
