Are you mad enough to fight a long-overdue war?
The thief (satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. John 10:10 What does satan say to us and how does it impact us? ( I know his name it’s supposed to start with a capital s, but ask me if I care.) We all know satan can only speak lies. He is not capable […]
Reviewing how God worked and willed for us to be living today.
God’s awesome power becomes indominable and strog when we become weak
The good news of the Gospel is simple enough for a child to understand.
The operative word in that question is “doing” The Gospel of Jesus Christ turns on that word. The law is about “doing”. Grace is about “Being”. Folks who work hard to be a “good Christian” miss the message of Christ’s ministry. (By the way, there’s no such thing as a “good” Christian.) For some (I was […]
We can choose to allow Christ to give us His strength in every thing we choose to do.
A Jewish lady answered a knock at her door. The young man asked her if she wanted her house painted. It needed painting, so she took his card. She noticed a fish symbol on the card and asked him what it meant. “It means I’m a Christian painter,” he said. In my opinion, calling yourself […]
God picks winners. God picked you. You’re a winner. God doesn’t make mistakes.
The post, The Church can not be separated from the State sparked a few interesting reader comments. Seems I “mis-wrote” (See footnote 1 below) my thoughts. So here’s a stab at clarification. Several comments seemed to suggest I didn’t adequately explain what I believe THE Church is. If you look up “church” in your Merriam Webster you’ll find a […]
In 1945 two brothers-in-law opened the first Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in Pasadena, California. They sold 31 flavors, one for each day of the month. Since then the iconic dessert giant boast 7,500 stores worldwide and have created more than 1,000 unique flavors of ice cream. Christianity seems to have adopted the Baskin-Robbins business model. […]
Most folks dream up New Years resolutions to be a better person this year than they were last year. Personally I’ve never been a fan of New Years resolutions. I know I’ll break them. Just like most other folks who make them. I have a dear blogging friend who’s worried about failure in 2017. She’s a delightful […]
If I don’t deal with resentment that creeps into my head, it can become a passion and create a toxic, harmful state of mind. When we feel resentment our bodies become physical wrecks. Stress hormones course through our veins. Resentment can cause the heart rate and blood pressure to rise to sometimes dangerous levels. Resentment can […]
What can you point to in the universe that is common to everything?
How do we find real truth in a culture that seems to thrive on untruths and misinformation?
Can you be religious and have a relationship with Jesus?
We have died to the law and now live the sanctifying life under Grace in Jesus Christ.
My mom never breaks the law. She doesn’t keep it either. She can’t.
The Creator of the Universe continuously pursues an intimate relationship with you
I am not what I’m thinking, I am not what I’m feeling, I am not what I’m doing…I am who I am BEING
Isn’t it comforting to know that even if the world, our family, friends and loved ones reject us, Christ never will?
I created a new category on my welcome page labeled, if you are . . .”If you are in Christ . . .” I want to help us all (myself included) know, understand, believe and live out of our true identity in Christ.
If you’ve ever seen a trial or been in a courtroom you know a judge and jury decide the defendant’s guilt or innocence.
Many of us grow up with the idea that God is vindictive, controlling, judgmental, and condemning.
Our identity doesn’t come from what we do or how we act. We behave badly and sin sometimes. Our identity comes from our identification as children of God.
