God

Good people don’t go to heaven, bad people do

Lot’s of good people believe that the way you get to heaven is by being good. After all, God is a good God and heaven is a good place and going to heaven will be a good thing–if we’re good.

The problem is: that’s not true.

Good people don’t go to heaven.  Bad people do.

Bad people who have done bad things WHO HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN go to heaven.

And there’s only ONE WAY to be forgiven–to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. And believe that when He died on the cross, who we WERE died with Him. And we became new creatures in Christ. Born again. From above.

That’s the only way we get to heaven.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Philippians 1:6 NIV

Of course you do. Well, I’m wanting to tell you a couple of things this morning. Continue reading

The Road To Emmaus

On the Road to Emmaus

Here’s the story of the two men on the Road to Emmaus from Luke 24:13-35 (NIV).

Enjoy reading.

Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; Continue reading
