Award Free Blog

An Award Free Blog

award imageSeveral kind bloggers have nominated me several times in the past for blogging awards. While I am grateful that fellow bloggers thought enough of my blog to nominate me, I have, and will, decline them.

I have nothing against blog awards. I believe, for some people, they are due recognition for good writing or faithful walks with the Lord.

I read the following similar thoughts on SecretAngelps911’s blog today and she inspired me to let my readers know I have felt the same way for awhile:

“I really appreciate the many who have nominated me for awards.  Your kindness and thoughtfulness are greatly appreciated. However, I feel that I am to be an “Award Free Blog” as I walk this path that the Lord has placed me on and guides me daily. I really  appreciate your comments as they encourage and inspire me to continue to express the thoughts, feelings, and words that I receive. I pray that God blesses each of you…” SecretAngelps911.

I do not write blog posts for recognition or my edification. I love to receive comments from readers when posts encourage or bless them. My sole purpose for writing blog posts, however, is to bring glory and honor to God. God gifted me with writing talents I employed during three decades in the business world. I use those writing gifts now for His glory.

I have surrendered my blog to God. He writes my posts through me. I use my well-developed sense of humor and satire at times. But, even those are gifts from God. So, thanks to all who have nominated me for blogging awards. I am honored and humbled that you would consider me deserving of an award.

Instead of awards, I’d rather wait to see if I earn any crowns someday.

“Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:8 NIV

  1. Hey Brother! Just wanted to let you know that I’ve nominated you for the “No Blog Award Blog Award!” The requirements are that you accept no awards, including this one. 🙂 Really good thoughts from the secretangel! I suppose it’s the path I’ve taken… with no verbal acknowledgement. …not to mention the countless hours involved in meeting the requirements of the nomination. Blessings good friend… glad to see you around!

    1. I am deeply humbled by your nomination, and I accept this award. But really the credit goes to my family and my agent and my fans and my director and my producer and the hat check girl at McDonalds. And I would not be where I am today without the love and brief hospital stay of my dearly departed mom.

      1. Thank you so much. My second posting scheduled for tomorrow our time was just posted on CB which is half a day ahead of us. I also just posted my song that God gave me on my site but trying to figure out how to post it to CB since I reblogged it from Diana’s site who wrote the music for my lyrics. Please let me know what you think..

      2. It’s there now. I am realizing that as we post something on CB in our time, we are going into the future here but present time on CB since they are a half day ahead.. Strange feeling. Still leaning…
