Try A Little Tenderness

Sometimes many of us could try a little tenderness with those whokindness oppose us or disagree with us, fellow bloggers particularly. Our kindness towards our brothers and sisters in Christ is not just a good idea, it’s a command from Scripture.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.Ephesians 4:32.

Sometimes we read or hear someone expressing heartfelt thoughts or opinions about Scripture that may appear diametrically opposed to our understanding. That difference does not give us license to correct, ridicule or judge them as wrong.

I read lots of blogs and posts and encounter a broad spectrum of beliefs. Some are far removed from my understanding of truth. That’s okay. It’s not our job to teach those who struggle with Scripture the truth (that’s God’s job, especially in the blogging universe). Nor is it our job to call them out.

As brothers and sisters in Christ, when others’ beliefs differ from our own, let’s try a little tenderness, try a little restraint, extend grace to them, and pray that God will show them, and us, His Truth.
