It did me good today to hear a pastor remind me it’s only by the blood of Christ that I am (we are) saved. I spent most of two decades believing my salvation was defined by Jesus’ death on the cross PLUS good deeds PLUS obedience PLUS reading the Bible PLUS praying PLUS joining a church.
All those things are good, but none of them, or combination of them, is a requirement for defining my (our) salvation. It’s not the blood of Jesus plus being a Baptist or Catholic. It’s not the blood of Jesus and being a Republican, or a Democrat or a deacon, or an usher, or a Sunday School teacher. It’s not the blood of Jesus plus anything else I do or say or become or think or believe that makes me saved.
It is Jesus’ shed blood on the cross ONLY! Jesus’ shed blood on the cross saves me.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”Acts 4:12
